For her MSc thesis, Kaitlyn undertook a randomized controlled trial in Malaysian women that investigated three different doses of folic acid and their impact on increasing RBC folate concentrations to a level associated with a reduced risk of neural tube defects. Her main findings are currently under review for publication – stay tuned! In the time of her MSc program, Kaitlyn traveled to Malaysia numerous times to help lead the study, published 3 papers (so far), and completed both an internship and a consultancy with Nutrition International.
