Congratulations Kelsey!

I have two exciting new updates to share:

First, Kelsey has officially transferred into the PhD Human Nutrition program! She is currently leading a RCT in pregnant women in Vancouver to determine if a natural form of folate (5-MTHF) is as effective as synthetic folic acid in increasing plasma and RBC folate concentrations during pregnancy, and to determine if supplementation with 5-MTHF results in lower plasma unmetabolized folic acid. I’m thrilled that Kelsey is expanding her current project and transitioning to a PhD in our lab.

Second, Kelsey was just awarded a BC Provincial Government Scholarship ($15,000). This is the first award of her PhD degree (although I am sure there are many more to come). Congratulations Kelsey!
