Huge congratulations to Kelsey who successfully defended her PhD on May 30th! Her dissertation is titled: “A comparison of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid vs. folic acid and the effects on maternal folate status and the human milk folate profile: Evidence from a randomized controlled clinical trial”. Keep an eye out for her forthcoming publications.
Her external examiner, Dr. Deborah O’Connor (global expert in folate metabolism and human milk), travelled from U Toronto to attend the exam in person and also provided a special seminar at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute on Human Milk Nutrient Fortification – Gaps and Opportunities to Impact the Health and Development of the High-Risk Infant.
