Jordie Fischer, a recent graduate of the Karakochuk lab, is lead author of a systematic review and meta-analysis on the use of ferrous bisglycinate, a novel amino acid iron chelate, accepted for publication in Nutrition Reviews.
Our review shows that supplementation with oral ferrous bisglycinate, a novel amino acid chelate (see: product info), resulted in greater increases in hemoglobin concentration and fewer reported adverse events among pregnant women, as compared to other oral iron supplements, such as iron salts.
