Jeff Holmes was awarded the 2018 Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism (APNM) Undergraduate Research Excellence Award. The 16 winners from across Canada for 2018 have each received a certificate of recognition and have been granted free electronic access to APNM for one year.
Jeff completed a 3-credit directed studies course with Dr. Karakochuk which included an independent research project titled: ‘Serum zinc, copper, and selenium concentrations after 12 weeks of multiple micronutrient supplementation with or without iron’. His abstract was accepted for a poster presentation at the Canadian Nutrition Society Conference in Halifax (May 3-6, 2018).
